NESC Technical Institute is pleased to announce the graduation of its first cohort in Guyana on 9th August 2022. The 10 graduates, all instructors at Guyana’s Linden Technical Institute, have successfully completed the NESC Heavy Equipment Diploma.
NESC was contracted by the Ministry of Education Guyana to undertake this training, as the country’s energy sector is set to grow rapidly over the next decade, thus increasing the demand for competent technicians in the specialisations required bythe sector.
NESC, which was established by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago twenty-five years ago to provide skills training for workers for the Atlantic LNG Train 1 in Point Fortin, is well-equipped with the resources and technical know–how to deliver the necessary training to Guyana.
“We are thrilled to witness our inaugural graduation in Guyana,” said Kern Dass, President of NESC. “We have international students at our local campuses but this is our first time delivering one of our programmes outside the country. As Guyana’s economy grows due to the explosion of its oil and gas sector, there is plenty of opportunity for NESC to assist Guyana in up skilling its human resources to meet the needs of the sector. We look forward to more collaborations and opportunities to provide high-quality technical training in Guyana.”
