- Know how to safely use tools, equipment, and supplies in effecting service and repairs to on-road and off-road heavy equipment.
- Display thorough knowledge of the standard practices and safety procedures, materials, tools, and equipment used in the troubleshooting and service of on-road and off-road heavy equipment systems and accessories.
- Use a variety of tools, competent in performing Oxy/Acetylene heating and cutting and diagnostic testing and tuning.
- Display knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, emission and HVAC systems on on- road and off-road heavy equipment and accessories (agricultural equipment).
- Read and interpret manuals, electronic service manuals and schematics.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully diagnose, maintain, service and repair hydraulic, brake, engines, drivetrain, steering, suspension, electrical/electronic and HVAC systems on on-road and off- road heavy equipment and accessories (agricultural equipment).
- Demonstrate competency in generating and maintaining maintenance/repair logs (written or electronic).
