- Know how to safely use tools, equipment, and supplies in effecting service and repairs to automobiles and light duty vehicles.
- Display thorough knowledge of the standard practices and safety procedures, materials, tools, and equipment used in the troubleshooting and service of automobile and light duty vehicle systems.
- Use a variety of tools, competent in performing Oxy/Acetylene heating and cutting, and diagnostic testing and tuning.
- Display knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, emission and HVAC systems on automobile and light duty vehicles.
- Read and interpret hard copy and electronic service manuals and schematics.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully diagnose, maintain, service and repair automobiles and light duty vehicles.
- Demonstrate competence in generating and maintaining maintenance/repair logs (written or electronic).
