Craftsman Machine Shop

Overview

This course provides both practical and theoretical training in pipe fitting and fabrication. Students will learn to install and repair piping or tubing systems that convey liquids, gases, and occasionally solids. The program covers:

  • Selection and preparation of pipes or tubing;
  • Joining techniques;
  • Leak detection and repair;
  • Exposure to all major aspects of the pipefitting occupation.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn to identify and use pipefitting equipment confidently, applying correct terminology in practical settings. They will develop the skills to prepare and fabricate pipe weld joints, accurately lay out joint components, and interpret weld geometry and symbols used in technical drawings. Additionally, they will gain foundational knowledge in cutting and welding techniques, along with an understanding of basic inspection principles to ensure weld quality and compliance with safety standards.
