This programme is another of NESC's 2-year Diploma Programmes and imparts the basic skills necessary for the effective maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment used in the Petrochemical and other industries. The programme includes theory and relevant practicals in the repair and alignment of pumps and other rotating equipment, as well as gearboxes and compressors.
Graduates will be skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications and be able to recognize defective welds, know the cause and proper procedure for the repair of the defective area. They will be able to execute assigned tasks in accordance with production standards required by industry. Also available at NESC's Goldsborough, Tobago campus.
The Automotive Services Technician Diploma Programme provides persons with the skills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain modern automobiles. Students are taught to identify faulty operations using diagnostic equipment and service manuals. Graduates will possess the skills and knowledge required to diagnose, repair, overhaul or modify a motor vehicle in accordance with production standards required by industry. This 2-year programme provides persons with the core skills and competencies required to commence and/or further a career working in the drilling industry. The curriculum was designed to provide a balanced industry-relevant technical training experience, with complementary and applicable theory, including hands-on drilling rig practical exercises to enhance the trainees' understanding of the technical body of knowledge. Practical exercises and assessments are conducted on the Academy's Drilling Rig Facility and in Workshops/Labs.

Participants will be exposed to the most advanced and comprehensive technical training programme available to aftermarket repair shops in compliance with industry standards and occupational safety and health requirements.

Graduates will have a thorough knowledge of the principle components of refrigeration systems, heat/cool units and air conditioning electrical and automatic controls. They will be capable of assembling, installing or overhauling all components and be proficient in the use of test instruments. After completing this course students are able to apply their knowledge of the installation, and service of HVAC systems in accordance with standards for the industry. The Rig Mechanic programme is specifically designed to equip graduates with the technical knowledge and skill required of a Rig Mechanic, to competently perform routine and non-routine maintenance on the Drilling Rig. This course is offered exclusively at NESC's Drilling Academy, Ste. Madeline.

This course offers practical and theoretical training in Pipefitting and Fabrication. Students are taught to install and repair piping or tubing systems which transport liquid, gas and occasionally solid material. This course involves selecting and preparing pipe and tubing, joining them together by various means as well as locating and repairing leaks. Students are exposed to all major aspects of the occupational area.
