The Industrial Mechanical Maintenance programme provides participants with the skills required by plant maintenance personnel in the maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment used in the Petrochemical industry. The programme includes alignment methods of pumps and other rotating equipment, rigging, operations, repairs of pumps, gearboxes
and compressors. The programme also includes development of preventative maintenance programmes related theory and the application of OSHA regulations and other applicable codes or standards.
Instrument Fitting entails general installation of instrument systems, components and accessories. It also includes routine and preventative maintenance on these systems, basic electrical systems, repair to instruments, and testing, making adjustments to measure and control process variables, safe working habits, proper use of tools and equipment of the trades, ISA and NEC codes and communications.
Construction Electrical Installation entails planning, layout and installation of wiring, electrical fixtures, panels, cable trays, splicing, wire-pulling, apparatus and control equipment. Additionally, it includes blueprint reading and diagrams, safe work habits, proper selection and use of hand / power tools, communications, applicable codes and precision measurement.
To provide training to Technicians in the concepts, theory and operating principles as well as practical appliciation and hand-on skills in the field of Automotive Technology.
Programme is GATE Approved.

•Autotronics Training - (Computer Management Lab.) •Automatic and Manual Transmissions •Gasoline and Diesel Engines •Anti-Lock Braking Systems •Steering and Suspension •Fuel Injection Systems •Computer Diagnostics •Auto Air Conditioning •Engine Rebuilding •Electronic Systems •Emission Systems •Lighting Systems •Ignition Systems •Fuel Systems Students also pursue the Computer Literacy Level 1 programme.
General Requirements and Qualifications:
Age: Minimum of seventeen years of age. •Minimum of 3 CXC subjects (General Proficiency),
including Mathematics, English and a related Science
subject, OR •the NEC Craftsman Diploma in Auto and Diesel,
OR the equivalent. •Experience in the Automotive field will be an asset, but is
not necessary. •Successful applicants must submit to and pass a drug test
at their own cost, which is NOT refundable.Duration:
The programme is conducted on a full-time basis. Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a period of eighteen (18) months, comprising:
•Six (6) months Theory, Lab and Workshop training
•Six (6) months On-The-Job training
•Six (6) months Theory, Lab and Workshop training
Certification:
• NESC TECHNICIAN'S DIPLOMA
• CERTIFICATE OF PROGRESS from Alberta Learning,
Canada
SOUND RECORDING AND MUSIC PRODUCTION
The aim of this programme is to train persons with the necessary skills to edit, mix and produce soundtracks, tapes and CD's, and to be able to operate and manage a home studio or sound reinforcement.
General Requirements and Qualifications:
• Post primary, junior or secondary level education.
• Persons interested in Audio Recording.
• Music literacy
Duration: Six months (240 contact hours)
Training conducted: Monday to Thursday
9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Certification:
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
General Requirements and Qualifications: • Sound Recording and Music Production Level 1 certificate.
Duration: Three months (120 contact hours)

Monday to Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

PART-TIME SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMME
Course Offerings: •Flux Core Arc Welding •Gas Metal Are Welding •Plasma Cutting
General Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum age limit 17 years.
Ability to use the Shielded Metal Arc Welding Process up to the 6-G position.
Certification: CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
The programme is jointly certified and accredited at Technician Level by Alberta Learning and Apprencticehip Training, Canada, and the National Training Agency (NTA). All successful students will be registered with The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board in Canada.
