The placement office assists graduates in making a successful transition on completion of their programs to their career goals. The placement office strives to provide the graduate with career guidance services, personal development and resources so that they can gain meaningful employment or pursue further academic training to meet their occupational choices.

The placement office is the main point of contact and servicing unit in the organization for

employers who wish to recruit graduates and for graduates who are seeking employment and career guidance. Through collaboration with industry the placement office seeks to address the employment needs of industry and in so doing provides placement opportunities in the following skill areas for graduates.

On an average the placement office assists approximately 600 craft graduates per year in their job search.

Technician - Automotive Technician Program:

This is an 18-month program and it follows the co-op model, incorporating academic semester and work semester as part of the students' program. The placement office has been 100% successful in placing its students in industry for its co-op training and 100% successful in providing meaningful and gainful employment opportunities for its graduates on completion of these programs.

Success Stories:

Craft graduates exposed to job training and placement opportunities are encouraged to pursue further academic training to fully enhance their skills.

Eighty percent (80%) of craft graduates are provided with job opportunities, twenty percent (20%) emigrate, are self employed or go on to immediate further training.

Contractors employ many of our craft graduates. These companies provide opportunities and exposure to work in the local, regional and international job markets.

Score (Europe) Ltd . (Graduates are on a two-year contract in Scotland . Training is being provided in Valve repair, maintenance and manufacturing).

Carillion (Caribbean) Ltd . (Graduates worked on projects in St. Lucia and Grenada ).

Attaway Services Ltd. ( USA ) ( Graduates worked on the construction of the New Airport in Trinidad & Tobago).

Insertech (Graduates worked on projects in Aruba )
